Vegetarian Phrases for Italy
In article jschacht@aol.com (JSchacht) writes:
I'm hoping someone out there knows Italian and can provide a little
helpful information. I am traveling to Italy next month. I am (mostly)
vegetarian, so I'd love to know how to say/ask the following food and
restaurant questions:
I think you will be fine. It's important to let the server know you
are vegetarian though.
(Is there meat in this dish?)
(Can one prepare this
without meat products?)
(Is there meat broth in this
dish?)
- Beef = carne, lagnanza
- Chicken = pollo
- Veal = vitello
- Pork = carne di maiale (porko means pig)
And of course:
- Sono americano, e non parlo italiano. (I'm American and I don't speak
Italian)
If you need any other phrases/tips let me know.
